PUBLIC WORKS is a multifaceted, multipurpose community and event space located in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District. Roll Up Gallery provides a space where the work of local SF based artists can mingle with both the up-and-coming art star and the budding savant, encouraged by one of the city’s creatively oriented non-profits. The gallery is open during the Public Works evening events and by appointment.

Three Special Recognition Awards for "Color: Bold/Subtle"

I am proud to announce that three of my works (Burmskadeedle, Zimstramaloo, and Igzeedoo) received Special Recognition in the 13th Annual "Color: Bold/Subtle" Juried International Online Art Exhibition through Upstream People Gallery.  The show will be showcased this month (July 2016) then moved to the archive section online for an indefinite period.

Juror's Statement:

"COURTNEY JACOBS of Pleasanton, California provides a number of rather lyrical expressions in acrylic. "Burmskadeedle", a fanciful title, is so rhythmic that one may feel like dancing all about. Her "Zimstramaloo" skips and slides as well. The tonal drama and the textured areas which seem to slow the movement is like a night parade. The favored piece "Igzeedoo" is like a Cy Twombly but with a jubilance that uplifts."

ArtSpan Artist Reception - Hotel Adagio

Come help to celebrate Hotel Adagio's first Art-in-Neighborhoods Exhibition!  I will be one of 5 featured artists for this event.  Drink specials at the bar (yum yum) and more...!

About the Art-in-Neighborhoods Program:

ArtSpan's Art-in-Neighborhoods program serves the city of San Francisco by connecting communities with local artists while activating spaces with vibrant, locally-made artwork.  ArtSpan partners with local businesses and building owners to bring art exhibitions and art events to businesses, dormant storefronts, and empty spaces for lease that seek artwork for their blank walls.  Local artists who are ArtSpan members are given the opportunity to display, promote, and sell their artwork in these diverse venues.  All aspects of the program allow otherwise unused walls, spaces, or properties to become creative arenas for celebrating local arts.

Exhibition: June 7th - August 8th

Opening Reception/Artist Mixer: Thursday, June 23rd 6-8pm
